Columbia Society for Women in Physics

Welcome to the Columbia Society for Women in Physics!

We are a group of undergraduate students, graduate students and postdocs that aims to promote and encourage the participation of women and other underrepresented groups in Physics. Our gatherings provide a friendly, informal and supportive environment where participants can share their experience and seek for advice.

Our next event:
Columbia Society for Women in Science (CSWP):  Coping Strategies
Date:  Monday, February 5, 6:00 PM
Place: Pupin Theory Center, 8th floor
Description: As we are getting back to our work and classes after a long winter break, stress and anxiety often accompanies a multitude of tasks, assignments and relationships we have to juggle. Underrepresented groups in STEM carry an extra load of challenges related to biases and discrimination that may dominate workplaces and classrooms.
Next Monday, we are going to share some coping strategies that help us overcome these challenges, stay on track, and enjoy what we do. We encourage you to join the conversation and share your tips.
Undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who identify as members of underrepresented groups in science are welcome. Please spread the word about us and invite friends who are interested. You do not need to be a declared major to participate. Food and drinks will be served.
An RSVP to would be appreciated but is not required to attend.
