Dr. Ana Asenjo-Garcia Wins IUPAP Early Career Scientist Prize

Columbia Professor of Physics, Dr. Ana Asenjo-Garcia, was awarded the Early Career Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics for 2022.

The Commission C15 of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) offered Dr. Asenjo-Garcia the award for her contributions to understanding fundamental physics associated with light-matter interactions in ultracold atoms and its applications to quantum technologies.

The Early Career Scientist Prize, which is one of the most prestigious awards in AMO Physics, includes a certificate, a medal, an award of 1,000€, and an invited presentation at the 27th International Conference on Atomic Physics (ICAP 2022) where the prize will be given. This year, the conference will be held from July 17 to July 22 in Toronto, Canada.
