Join the Brazilian Society, ILAS, and Marcelo Gleiser for a conversation on STEM Education in Brazil, in the US, and around the world. Marcelo will tell us a little bit about his life and career paths and explore the difference in scientific research between Brazil and the US, in light of recent budget cuts for federal universities and research funding in Brazil. Marcelo Gleiser is a Brazilian Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Dartmouth College, an author of various books, and the 2019 winner of the Templeton Prize. We will serve free Brazilian snacks during the event. This event will be held in IAB 802 on Friday, November 8th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
