Professor Tomo Uemura received the Fibonacci Prize at the International Conference Superstripes 2017 held in Ischia Island, Italy. This prize is given to two recepients every year who made significant contributions in studies of superconductivity.
The 2016 awardee were Prof. Alessandra Lanzara (UC Berkeley) and Prof. Atsushi Fujimori (Univ. of Tokyo). This year's co-recepient was Prof. Dr. Bernd Büchner, the Director of IFW Dresden, Germany.
The citation for Prof. Uemura's Prize was "Contributing Uemura Plot for advancement of understanding unconventional superconductors and developing discussions in comparisons with superfluid He"
