Professor Bradley Johnson received a Research Initiatives in Science and Engineering (RISE) Award for his work along with Professor Harish Krishnaswamy (Electrical Engineering) titled, "A Novel Spectrometer for Discovering Signals from the Beginning of the Universe". They were one of six teams to be awarded.
RISE was started in 2004 to provide initial funding support to early-stage, imaginative, and collaborative discoveries spanning the basic sciences, engineering, and medicine. The discoveries seeded during RISE’s 13-year history have led to over 130 students and postdoctoral researchers supported, over 130 peer-reviewed published manuscripts, and follow-on funding from governments and foundations in excess of 600% of RISE’s initial investment.
